| Directions - From 81 take 64 east toward
Chalottsville, and exit for 29 south.. Travel on 29 south for like 5
miles and look for left on rte 708, follow for 5 miles and take a right on
rte 631 (old lynchburg road), travel another 1/2 mile and take a left into
park.. Might have to Pay if its touron season.. Follow road and
park in first lot on right at bottom of hill.. Description - Some decent well marked trails in this
small park.. The trails were mainly singletrack but WELL worn in
exposing plenty of roots and some rocks.. The rock gardens were good
but few and far between.. Some really fun sections with whoopty doos,
trails flowed pretty nice.. Lots of ups and downs as opposed to the VA
standard of climb for 1000 feet then descend.. Trail ranged from blue
rock dust to orangey red toxic waste with white powder that I believe is the
salt from all the people who ride here and sweat.. We couldn't believe
how many people were headed here on a friday afternoon!! |
