This place was pretty sweet. A little over 9 miles of mountain bike only
trails...no hikers or horses allowed. There was a nice map at the trail
head, and plenty of signage along the trails. Impossible to get lost. Also a
water fountain to fill up the CamelBack, and nasty but functional bathrooms.
Also had hiker only trails for the masses.
The trails were extremely well maintained and ranged from super buff high
speed hard pack single track to rooty sections and rock gardens. There were
2 or 3 sweet downhill sections with great flow...really high speed stuff,
and a couple that were a bit more techy with some natural rock or log jumps.
I was surprised at how much damn climbing there was in this place...maybe it
was because it was already 90 degrees with 100% humidity at 8 in the
morning. There were 3 pretty painful climbs and a few more that weren't too
bad. Also was a small stunt area, with a nice long log ride on the ground
and a couple wide teeters for the kids.
Also had some nice scenery along the river banks of the Occaquan River.
Great usage of the terrain...they really used the topography and natural
features well.
Easier Intermediate stuff for the most part.
