CT - Chatfield Trail (South of Chatfield hollow) - Mountain Bike Review with Map and Pictures |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Update 2012: I have been informed that no
bikes are allowed on this trail, which is fine, because it pretty much blows
for mountain biking due to excessive hike a bike. Great area for
hiking though! |
Directions - See Chatfield hollow but instead of pulling into the park on right, drive up the road and look for blue sign on left. Description - I have never seen so much hike a bike.. This ride is hands down the most hike a bike in the state.. The ride is an out and back, I chose trail south, road ride back.. Between the HABS there are some great lines, some great technical stuff, extreme you name it, but there is just too much hike a bike.. Once you get into a groove, you have to get off.. Some of the hike a bike was pretty gnarly, 5.10ish lines up and down.. Over all I will say, unless your a core adventure cyclist who likes to carry and enjoy cool rock formations, this place is not for you.. There were other trails near the south end that are part of some summer campground, not sure how good they are.. Thanks to FID for the Map!! Local Business Sponsor Attention Any Future Home buyers!
