Directions - From GJ, head toward monument by
crossing river, then take immediate left following signs for monument,
travel up hill and look for very easy to see parking lot on your left. Description - You
just cant seem to go wrong riding the lunch loops in grand junction.
Pretty heavily traveled trails that are all very well built and suited for
mountain bike mayhem. You will need some legs here, because what comes
down, must first come up. First day we rode From the parking
area to Pete-e-kes to eagles tail, to eagles wing to andes to eagles to Holy
cross and home on kurts. Pet-e-kes was a perfect fun climb, eagles
tail and wing had some nice tech moves mixed in.. Andy's was pretty
tame but sweet singletrack, that had a pretty healthy climb.. At the
end there is a line you can ride through a cave.. End of andy's did
have a bit o hike a bike to get back to the road. Eagles had some
stellar views and awesome fun flowy technical trail with a couple killer
sections (crash test rated).. Drop to rock skinny was my favorite,
even though I flatted. Holy cross is a must do trail.. It just
plain rocks and will fill your adrenaline tank, even if your on empty.
Super Super fun moves, very techy to very flowy. Lots of fun stuff ON
and OFF the trail as you wind through boulders & trees. Some drops,
some rollers even an FWO iffin your lookin.
Second trip we climbed eagles to lemon squeezer to miramonte'..
Eagles climb was a biatch, some hike a bike, mandatory for humans..
Lemon squeezer had some great lines, couple nice 2 footers, techy rock area,
some boulder fun.. Not as good as holy cross but a great down for
variety. Miramonte was pretty sleezy, but all great singletrack, with
some very cool collared lizards cheering you on..
