Directions - I25 to Loveland. Exit 255 to Rt 34 West. From the intersection of Eisenhower & US 34 head west out of Loveland. In approx. 3 miles turn right onto Hidden Valley Drive, a dirt road. If you drive past the water tower, you’ve gone too far. Follow Hidden Valley Drive to the trailhead.

Description -   Multi-use area for mtn biking, hiking & horseback riding. The trails offer a variety of singletrack surfaces from hard-packed to sandy to loose baby-head rocks to embedded stone that protrudes from the trail. It’s high-desert riding with very little shade so do not ride in the heat of the day- it’s Africa-hot even in September! A lot of ups & downs so expect to do a lot of climbing- nothing sustained but it wears you down.

Loops -
Devil’s Backbone connects with Horsetooth Mountain Park so it can be a point-to-point ride if you want to park a car at the park. We did an out and back in the devil’s area only. We rode the Blue Sky trail to the Rimrock Trail to Coyote Ridge and back which was 18 miles. From the Devil’s Backbone Trailhead to the Horsetooth Mtn Park trailhead is 9.6 miles one way. We heard there are a lot of trails over there….
