I figure since you weren't there first hand, I'd give the recap a go...see
if it's worth posting. You rate the ride though...
Started off with 9 (insert name here if you were there) from the rte 44
side. Across the single track fields to the long uphill to the fence trail
- no wait, CT says follow me for a better way to the top. Gnarly steep
climb, CT goes into billygoat mode, C&B bogs down with anti-christ chain
suck of some sort, and the rest of the group goes hike-a-bike at various
stages. To the chainlink fence trail, fast pace, through the logged out
singletrack, watch that "mud hole" and onto the paved stuff past the main
lot. Up the short climb to the log stunts - various attempts made to "ride
the log" but with no female riders present, it was a lost cause for most.
On towards the power lines, Lloyd flats, we wait. No takers for the
insane Gonzo hill climb. Group goes to 7 then quickly to 6. They're
droppin like flies. Getting dark quick on the orange flag trail, time to
break out the lights. CT takes this literally and has to finish to blue
helen keller style. C&B opts to play seeing eye rider for CT to car and
that left 4. Across the the root trail to the now not so new, getting worn
in, the logs are shrinking, trail. More helen keller style riding as
(insert name here) light goes dim. Continue on towards last part of
standard loop, pick up a hitch hiker who's bikeless/lightless/waterless,
the lost jogger decides to "run" with us to the end. Decide to forgo the
last leg of the loop cause our hitcher wasn't gonna make it. Fire road it
out to the lot.
Rating (by PM) - 3 1/2 bowls of Osama Salad. Yes its greasy, but high in protein!!
PS - Are you sure Loyd was riding?? I saw a few clouds yesterday?
Nice recap - you might be the new PIT.
