Two Tortoise Rock - Mountain Bike Trail Review with Map and Pictures |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Directions - This loop is kind of far
from any parking area and it's very small.. I recommend adding it to
either Gold bar rim shuttle ride or possibly as a figure 8 loop with eagles
perch (not yet reviewed by Bikerag).. Basically the access is
off of the main road that goes past Gemini bridges, look for sign to bull
canyon on right, take it and look for unmarked left turn, take the left
turn, otherwise you end up in bull canyon.. Watch for dead end
spurs on loop. |
Description - Starts off as dirt road, but after you take the left and head towards the two Tortoise rock the trail gets fun and techy with ledges drops and rollers.. Cool views, some climbing to get out.. IF you take this as part of the gemini to goldbar to portal looop, it actually avoids some sand on goldbar (we think), and milks some vert you otherwise kind of waste on open road.. Loops - You could ride this if you parked like right at gemini bridges area, doo the eagles perch ride plus two tortoise.. We rode it as large shuttle, from top of gemini, burn down dirt road, hit two tortoise counter clockwise, then goldbar, to portal.. Epic day.. If you pedalled up from lower gemini lot off 191, it would not be a very big bang for your buck!! Pre-ride Music: |
Total Miles: 4.12 mile two tortoise loop is
shown in purple dashed, but getting there will be way more miles. |
