Directions - Description - There
are quite a few trails in this narrow park located right in Philly.
The trails are moderately technical and hilly. The surface is mainly
washed out, rocky, sandy double track that snakes back and forth - eternal
switchback style. The trails are located on both sides of the wissapisson river. This place LITERALLY smells like piss, puke and
garbage. Not so bad that you are gagging throughout the whole ride,
but enough to downgrade the quality of riding significantly. TO make
your trek even worse, there are a billion people there - this is THE -
K-mart of mountain biking. The contradiction is that the park is
somehow, somewhat scenic with steep ridges, cool rock formations, bridge
and river views etc... Add about 100,000 gallons of clorine to the
river and get rid of all the sand, the people - and then maybe its worth
taking a trip to ride there. No major technicalities here that I
found - im sure they exist though. Some fun fast downhills..
If you live in the city - its definitely worth biking here, a great
workout!!
