Directions - From Middletown area take 66 East, to 151 south for 6.6 miles, look for machimoodus state park sign on right.

Description -   Machimoodus (place of bad noises) is a brand new state park in East Haddam.  Not much in the way of mountain biking here unless you are a true beginner or just like sandy fire roads.  The Upper vista trail and lower vista trail are just roads that travel through open fields with a forest area in between.  Maybe at some point the state will allow for some singletrack, but until then, I would stick with Hurd state park right up the road.  There was one piece of actual trail that ran between the upper vista and lower vista, but after 43 feet of nice singletrack, it went right to doubletrack.
