Directions - Rt. 44 to Avon/Simsbury and
take Rt. 167 (Bushy Hill Rd.) toward Simsbury. Left onto Stratton Brook
Rd. Left onto Farms Village Rd. (Rt. 309). Right onto Hedgehog Lane, take
left onto Saddle Ridge Dr. Park at end of Cul-de-Sac. This is where I end
but you could begin. Get on bike and follow roads back to Farm Village Rd.
and take right and up hill then take right into Masters School. Ride
through Masters School area until you get to back ball field. This is where
Hedgehog trail starts. Description - Very rocky and some tough technical stuff although nothing death defying. Unfortunately this is not ridden much so some sections require hike-a-bike due to trail conditions (I am slowly working on this) and/or steepness. The view on top of the Hedgehog is one of the best in CT. Red (Hedgehog trail) and yellow are probably best and blue/purple/green (just my map colors) could be skipped. Also Onion Mt. is across Farms Village Rd. on West Mt. road. Good for short 1/2 hour ride. Note my map has a few trails missing. (also see http://www.townofsimsbury.com/about/trail_guide.htm) |
