| Directions - 90 to 395 south to 16 east,
right on cedar street follow signs for park. Description - First
the Bad stuff. On the state park map there are many "trails" that are
actually fire roads, sandy fire roads.. Also, there were quite a few
portages through muddy, swampy areas. Ok besides that this place
rocks! The coffee-pot loop right out of the gate is awesome.
Some great technical rock gardens! There are some good rocky sections
of the mid state trail, but a good % of it is fire road. The Schmidt
trail should be called the SH!T trail - not recommended (hoof indentations
and piles of crap). Skip the trails north of 16. There is a
trail below 16 that parallels it - great trail - follow it and just keep
bearing left - its a great trail but a very long trip, longer than you
think!! No easy bailouts that I know of.. Great rocky
single-track.. Bring a light, explore, enjoy. Go for a swim when your
done.
